On 8th of March 1909 #women were down to the streets to protest against working conditions, and rights. Further ahead, in 1979 the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) was adopted by the UN General Assembly, with the aim to protect the human rights of women in the public and private sphere.
Today young people are facing multiple difficulties in finding jobs, and women are still victims of major inequalities. According to the European Commission, young women earn less than men (around -7.2%). Moreover, despite many countries having legislation against gender discrimination, it is still not enough and we need greater inclusion.
The H.E.Y! Project focuses on supporting young people with fewer opportunities, especially returnees and NEETs, regarding employment, education or life conditions. Our goal is to give a voice to equally express their vulnerabilities and needs, no matter their #gender, contributing to the reduction of gender discrimination.
